Headquartered in North Carolina’s Research Triangle, we offer an array of quality improvement, clinical review, audit, technical, and consulting services and solutions to improve care delivery, system performance, and patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

Constellation Quality Health seeks a Freelance Health Care Business Writer to provide writing, drafting, and editing services of various reports, proposals, and business documents. This role will support Program Solutions division and consulting and will include Center of Innovation documents and reports, Quality Reports, business development documents including Request for Proposals (RFPs), grant proposals, and White Papers. The writer will be responsible for the development, training, and maintenance of a Constellation Quality Health Style Manual and report templates, and will support the overall business writing needs of the organization as needed.

We expect you to:

  • Work effectively with cross-functional groups to produce high-quality, scientifically accurate documents under strict timelines, and ensures consistency between related documents.
  • Ensure that assigned documents undergo a quality check before approval, and that documents are routed correctly during review and approval cycles.
  • Manage timelines and communicate with team members to maintain awareness of expectations, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Review and edit documents, including those authored by others both internally and externally.
  • Work closely with company leadership, Program Solutions staff, Business Development, researchers, project managers, data analytics professionals, consultants, and others to develop consistently high-quality reports and documents.
  • Proactively identify potential issues that could impair success and ensuring that the appropriate resources are working to resolve any issues.
  • Openly communicate with team(s), identifying risks, coordinating draft version control, sharing updates, soliciting input from SMEs, and ensuring adherence to timelines.

Who You Are:

The Health Care Business Writer is a confident and effective communicator with attention to quality, consistency, and detail. The writer must have the ability to remain calm and assertive yet diplomatic in more challenging interactions with customers and colleagues and be able to help facilitate high quality end-products. Additionally, this role demonstrates initiative and sound judgement when faced with less familiar project/document situations or challenges; and proactively evaluates risks and potential issues, seeks solutions, and discusses appropriately with colleagues and leadership.

Our requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or related degree.
  • Five (5) years of writing and editing experience.
  • Prefer writing and editing experience in healthcare, quality, or Program Integrity settings
  • Expertise in use of proper English, grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize assignments, and complete assignments on time.
  • Experience working with content experts and authors to create or shape content.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Well-organized: ability to prioritize tasks, work simultaneously on multiple projects, and complete high-quality documents according to tight timelines and shifting priorities/demands
  • The technical/scientific ability to critically analyze, synthesize, and present complex information in well-constructed, accurate documents.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare systems, clinical research, and medical terminology preferred
